I woke up this afternoon and the sky was orange. The wildfires had gotten closer since last night. I go outside and my car is covered in ash and burnt pieces of leaves are hitting me in the face.
I took these pictures as the sun was setting. The sun was setting but it was still bright orange outside. Then, it starts thundering louder and louder until dark storm clouds come in from the opposite direction of the smoke.
And then the sky just opens up in a pour.
This morning the fire was 6 miles wide and 13 miles deep, and it’s still burning. They’ve evacuated Mannford, Drumright, and Jennings. There were a total of 13 active fires in the state today.
