National Eating Disorders Awareness Week started February 26th and ends on March 3rd. I wanted to make a post before but I haven’t had the time or energy, so I’m making it now…
This is an issue that is very near and dear to my heart, and I just want to help spread awareness. Even if you don’t personally suffer from an eating disorder, or don’t know anybody affected by one, it is still a rapidly growing disease that affect millions of people every day- not only in the US, but around the world, and you can still spread awareness. I have struggled with eating disorders/disordered eating since a young age, and although my health has improved immensely in recent months/years, I still struggle on a daily basis with negative thoughts, body image, food, etc. I am aware that a lot of my followers share the same struggles. I just want you guys to know that you are not alone- help is out there and recovery IS possible, so please don’t give up on yourselves. There are so many ways to help and get involved… Even if you don’t want to participate, there is still a lot of helpful information on the NEDA website, so why not educate yourself?
